Football fans were shocked and outraged today when it was revealed that Brett Favre was not traded to the New York Jets, but for an actual jet. “It’s the best move for all involved,” says Green Bay spokesperson Colby Pepperjack. “Our CEO has wanted a jet for so long. Now he has it, and Boeing has one heck of a quarterback!” Boeing, the aircraft company that agreed to the trade was cautiously optimistic. One official who asked to remain anonymous, had this to say, “Making Brett Favre airworthy presents one hell of a challenge. We don’t know how high he can fly initially, or how he’ll do in the wind tunnel tests. Quite frankly, I don’t know where we are going to put wings on him. But we are very excited to give it a shot.” Fans were not so upbeat. “Favre flying around like he was some kind of airplane? C’mon! There are plenty of old timers with more aerodynamic proportions! What about Joe Montana or Emmit Smith? I bet they could fly circles around him!” says Calico Burns, a 47 year-old pipe welder from the Green Bay area. A Jet was not Greenbay’s first choice. “We first considered a Giant, and then a Cowboy. Jenkins wanted a Lion, but in the end we felt a Jet was perfect. We are planning to call it Cheese Head One.”
